Just as Control4 makes it easy to create IR drivers, Generic TCP Command makes network integration easy: it lets you customize and send TCP, UDP or HTTP commands to any device or service on the local network or the internet, as well as Wake on LAN.
The driver also creates incoming HTTP commands: each command generates an event with the same name in programming, so external systems can trigger any feature of the Control4 project.
Installation
- Add the driver to the project and create the outgoing TCP, UDP or HTTP commands you need.
- To send device variables, use the notation PARAM{deviceid, variableid} in the URI or command data.
- For incoming commands, create the command in “Add incoming command”.
- Program the action on the event with the same name in the Programming tab.
- Fire the event with an HTTP call to the address shown in “Webserver Address” followed by the command name.
Features
- TCP and UDP commands with configurable IP, port and payload
- ASCII or hexadecimal payloads, with delimiters such as CR and LF
- HTTP GET and POST commands to any web server
- Wake on LAN
- Project device variables sent in the commands
- Incoming HTTP commands that fire events in programming
